Whether you are looking to emulate the look of vintage "cross-screen" lens filters or create stylized, magical glints, this plugin gives you total control. Easily adjust the number of Streaks, their Rotation, and their Length to transform any bright point into a stunning focal point.
This plugin allows you to create star glows in a single click - and works both in After Effects for cinematic motion graphics, and Premiere Pro for stylish overlays.
Crate’s Star Flare features a dedicated Diffraction generator that simulates the way light splits as it passes through a lens.
You can independently adjust the Red, Green, and Blue frequencies to create realistic chromatic aberrations within your streaks. Combine this with the Halo Brightness and Halo Radius controls to create a layered, complex glow that mimics the physical properties of high-end glass.
You can adjust the hue and saturation of the final star flare overlay to get even more vibrance out of your geometric glows.
Use the integrated Flicker Strength and Speed controls to give your flares a life-like pulse, perfect for simulating candlelight, distant stars, or rhythmic sirens.
To ensure your flare blends perfectly into the scene, use the built-in Threshold, Threshold Smoothness and Taper settings. These allow you to define exactly where the star flares come from.
You can increase it's intensity with the Bloom parameters, as well as adjusting the Length and Falloff to define how it spreads across the screen.
To help get started, a bunch of star flare presets have been included in the plugin.
Each of these have been fine-tuned to give you the classic iconic looks, as well as some experimental designs.
